1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using behinddwheel.com and registering as a member of BehindDWheel Truckers' Ventures Cooperative ("the Cooperative"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. About the Cooperative
BehindDWheel Truckers' Ventures is a professional drivers' cooperative society registered under Nigerian law. We provide driver verification services, cooperative savings and thrift plans, loan facilities, and exclusive job opportunities to verified members.
3. Membership Eligibility
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must hold a valid FRSC driver's license
- Must provide valid means of identification (NIN, International Passport, or Voter's Card)
- Must pay the non-refundable registration fee of ₦5,000 NGN
- Must meet the minimum share capital requirement of ₦10,000 NGN
- Must agree to abide by the Cooperative's Bye-Laws and Code of Conduct
4. Member Obligations
- Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information during registration
- Keep your login credentials confidential and notify us immediately of unauthorized access
- Make regular thrift contributions as required
- Repay loans according to agreed schedules
- Attend mandatory cooperative meetings (Annual General Meeting, etc.)
- Notify the Cooperative of any changes to personal information
5. Verification Process
All members undergo a verification process including:
- FRSC driver's license validation
- Background and reference checks
- Document verification (NIN, passport, proof of address)
Verification typically takes 3-5 business days. The Cooperative reserves the right to reject any application that fails verification.
6. Savings & Loans
6.1 Savings
- Members must maintain an active savings account
- Interest is calculated and credited according to the Cooperative's savings policy
- Withdrawals are subject to the Cooperative's rules and notice periods
6.2 Loans
- Loan eligibility is based on savings balance and creditworthiness
- Loans up to 5x savings balance may be available to qualified members
- All loans must be approved by the Credit Committee
- Default on loans may result in suspension of membership and legal action
7. Code of Conduct
Members must:
- Conduct themselves professionally at all times
- Not engage in fraudulent activities or misrepresentation
- Not use the Cooperative's platform for illegal purposes
- Not harass, abuse, or discriminate against other members
- Respect the confidentiality of other members' information
Violation of the Code of Conduct may result in suspension or termination of membership.
8. Termination of Membership
Membership may be terminated:
- Voluntarily: By written notice to the Cooperative (30 days notice required)
- Involuntarily: For violation of Bye-Laws, Code of Conduct, loan default, or fraudulent activity
- Upon Death: Benefits transferred to nominated next-of-kin
Upon termination, members are entitled to their savings balance and share capital (less any outstanding obligations) after a reconciliation period.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Cooperative shall not be liable for:
- Losses arising from inaccurate information provided by members
- Losses due to force majeure events (natural disasters, government actions, etc.)
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Losses from unauthorized access due to member's failure to secure credentials
10. Intellectual Property
All content on behinddwheel.com including text, graphics, logos, images, and software is the property of BehindDWheel Truckers' Ventures Cooperative and is protected by Nigerian copyright laws. Reproduction without permission is prohibited.
11. Privacy & Data Protection
Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which complies with the NDPR 2019, NDPC Act 2023, and GDPR. By using our services, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved through:
- Internal dispute resolution mechanisms of the Cooperative
- Mediation through the cooperative regulatory body
- Courts of competent jurisdiction in Lagos State, Nigeria
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Members will be notified of material changes via email or through our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
